After more than 20 years of development, Shenzhen has grown into a modern and vibrant young city boasting the highest GDP per capita in China's mainland. Its comprehensive economic capacity ranks among the top of the big cities in the country. The combined value of imports and exports has placed it in the No.1 place for 12 years in a row. 

Shenzhen - best-developed market economy in China
Shenzhen has the most dynamic economic development in China; this can be attributed to its well-built market economy and a diverse rich culture  spawned from its immigrant inhabitants. The three pillar industries, namely high-tech, modern logistics, and financial services are propelling the city's economy along a fast track. A reasonable industrial structure, a mature market, a healthy financial system and an advanced and complete open economy ensure a good functioning of the city's economy. Shenzhen Stock Exchange is one of the only two of its kind in China's mainland, home to 98 of the Global Top 500 companies' manufacturing bases or research centers.
 
Shenzhen - only Chinese city with seaport, airport and inland port
Shenzhen is linked to the world by 106 international container shipment routes, 148 domestic air routes, and 11 international air routes. It is also the only mainland city adjacent to Hong Kong. People can visit to Hong Kong through inland ports at Luohu, Huanggang, and Wenjindu. It is a large "central station" between Hong Kong and other inland Chinese cities, and an express entrance to the Zhujiang Delta. It plays an important role in commodity and information centralizing and dissemination.

The average temperature in Shenzhen is 22.4℃. There are greens and flowers throughout the year. It was rated "International Garden City" by UN, and is a winner of "Global 500 Environment Award" . There are many places worth seeing, like Window of the World Theme Park, Folk Culture Village, Splendid China Theme Park, Happy Valley, World of Minsike Aircraft Carrier, and beach parks. Shenzhen has over 40 locations of ancient culture legacy, gourmet food from all over China, and markets with abundant commodities. Each year tens of thousands of visitors come for leisure activities such as sightseeing and shopping. 
 
Shenzhen – a city with quickly developing sector of conventions & exhibition
In 2004, over 100 exhibitions were hosted in Shenzhen and the total exhibition area exceeded one million square meters. Every year, famous international exhibitions open in Shenzhen, which include China Hi-tech Fair, and the number of exhibitions is steadily growing. To create a better environment for the development of exhibition sector, Shenzhen municipal government announced in 2005 preferential policies to support organizations holding exhibitions in Shenzhen.
